As you may have gathered I’m Magnus Shaw.
I'm also an award-winning copywriter and sometime creative director.
With 16 years' experience in the creative and media industry, I’ve had a hand in an eye-watering range of endeavours. I’ve written and made TV ads with Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones (whatever happened to that Griff, eh?). And I came up with the idea of putting a giant red alarm clock in the middle of York.
I’ve written and directed videos for Superdrug and corporate presentations for ASDA, created and managed internal communications events for first direct and did the voiceover for a Welcome Finance training DVD.
In between this kind of conceptual malarkey, I’ve produced copy for untold brochures, direct mail pieces and more press advertisements than you could fit in reasonably sized horsebox.
Of course, recent years have seen me adding to the bulging servers of the interweb. Landing pages, microsites, emailers and lovely big websites have all enjoyed the sparkle of my finely honed words.
Oh, and I write a semi-popular blog and edit a very popular music website.
That said, I’m just as happy sitting in the corner with a pad and pen, squeezing intriguing ideas out of my head. Not surprisingly, client presentations, pitches and training have all found a place in my working days.
I even find the time to visit my beloved Greek islands when no one needs me or no one’s looking.
